And yet with all the new, beautiful things available in the world of homeschooling, I still couldn’t find a single computer science curriculum that aligned with my values.
The resources on the market either taught coding through computer games or they involved buying an expensive robot.
To top it all off, none of the options taught programming in a comprehensive way, and NONE in a way that acknowledged Christ as the creator of all things.
Salt & Lightspeed exists to help raise the next generation of grounded, creative, and technically-skilled engineers who use their gifts to glorify Christ
I didn’t know it at the time, but my journey has been a series of puzzle pieces God has clicked into place, preparing me to bring you this curriculum.
I come from a family of artists, but dove into a career in computer engineering. I devoted years of my life to gaining the technical knowledge of how computers work… only to be called out of my job, overseas, and into the life of a homeschooling mom.
I tumbled headlong into teaching. First my own kids, then at a private center, and finally at a university. I was surprised to find that where I had loved coding, teaching coding was my passion.
God used my artistic skill, technical knowledge of computers, passion for teaching, and love for Christ to lead me to where I am today; developing beautiful, innovative, and accurate computer science curriculum that aligns with Christian values.

Drawing heavily upon the influence of Charlotte Mason, I aim to lay beautiful and visually stimulating programming material before our kids.
